Milk is enjoyed by both kids and adults all over the country. It is very healthy and helps keep our bones and teeth nice and strong. Milk is also delicious which is why a lot of people use it in many other ways such as with cereal and also in cooking dishes and desserts.

But while milk can be a great drink to consume everyday, it can also be a source of a cleaning problem inside your home. Kids often love to play around while they are eating or drinking so it is not uncommon to have milk spills all over your home. If the spill happens on the kitchen floor then it is okay since it can be cleaned easily. The bad thing is when it happens on your carpet.

Milk spills on the carpet can be pretty tough to clean up after. You will need to make sure that you are cleaning it the proper way in order to avoid stains or to leave behind residue that can be source of a ton of other problems. If you have milk spills in your home, check out the guide below to help you do the task properly and effectively.

• The first thing you will need to do is to remove the excess milk that is still on the carpet. You will need a clean sponge or a clean white cloth for this step. Simply blot the spilled milk using the sponge or cloth in order to absorb it, then squeeze it to transfer the liquid onto an empty bowl or container. Once you have removed as much of the excess milk then it’s time for you to move on to the next step.
• After dealing with the excess liquid, it is now time for you to tackle the stain or mark that the spill may have caused. For this you will need to create a cleaning solution using simple kitchen ingredients. Just get a teaspoon of white vinegar and mix it together with a cup of warm water. Then, place some of the cleaning solution onto the stained portion of the carpet and allow it to set for a couple of minutes.
• Next, get a clean white cloth and start blotting the affected area of the carpet. The milk stain will slowly come off and eventually it will be completely gone as long as you continue blotting it. It may take a few minutes but your carpet will soon be back to normal.
• After removing the stain, it is still important for you to rinse the area where it used to be. This is to avoid having any milk or cleaning solution residue get left behind. Just rinse it with a cup of water and dry it completely using clean towels to finish the task.
